Congrats, swzeng. Hope to be right behind you.

I enrolled in Electronic Processing a couple of weeks after I mailed in my I-864EZ (by snail mail) and paid my AOS and IV fees. I did so since my I-864 and attachments were many pages long. Does that mean I have to send only all future documents via email (I hope), or do I need to resubmit the I-864 via email?

the I-864 must be submitted via email, after you have the GZO #.

yup, mostly ... used to be different, prior to 15 May 2013, where it would get scheduled within 5 days of case complete.

I chalk this up to GUZ IV having a clusterf*ck with slots now, since they have to release slots to CGI Stanley .

If you study the CR-1 and K-1 timelines for China (suggest the portal, as that's the easiest) you'll see there's a huge gap for July. Why? The Consulate is moving during the 15th to the 22nd of July.

Anyway - after 15 May 2013 - it appears that NVC is only scheduling monthly for EP cases. Which, of course, sucks loads. NCCChina flipped an expedite after a case complete waiting of about 45 days and got an interview for mid August...

I dunno, really, I think something is broken.

I'm not convinced NVC is finished with Guangzhou atm.

Heck, I'm not even convinced they've started, for Guangzhou, atm, either.

This is the reply i got.Now what to do next?Should we just send the AOS to NVCelectronic@gov.com?

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your correspondence.

This case is now enrolled in the Electronic Processing Program.

The additional email addresses submitted with the enrollment email were added to our records.

Please note that all forms and documents that we request and require in the future must be scanned copies of the originals. The applicant must present all original forms and documents to the consular officer at their visa interview. Failure to present the required originals at the visa interview will result in a denial or delay in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

This correspondence is also to notify you that the principal applicant's case number was changed. The new case number starts with GZO (instead of GUZ) and is followed by a new set of ten numbers. This change was made to identify the case for both the NVC and the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou, China as participating in the Optional Electronic Processing Program.

Please refer to the case number given below in all future correspondence with the NVC and the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou.

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3904.html

IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

As this case is processing electronically, all forms and documents must be sent via email as scanned attachments to NVCElectronic@state.gov. Sending physical documents to the NVC will delay the processing of your case.

Case Number: GZO2013xxxxxx

Petitioner's Name: xxx

Principal Applicant's Name: xxx

Preference Category: CR1

Your Priority Date: 13Aug2012

Foreign State Chargeability: CHINA - MAINLAND

you not need to send in the receipt anymore (another thing I need to change)

however - include the barcode coversheet - generate a new one nowish and see if it contains the GZO # instead of the GUZ #.

I note folk have had problems since Wednesday, generating any coversheets - NVC website/portal has some issues and they wound up calling in and asking for a supervisor to generate a coversheet, email out to petitioner.

re: sending in prior to being marked 'paid' at the portal - sure - it's perfectly fine. why? there's a lag between when they receive it to when they actually detach it and add it to the casefile. in between, yer payment status will change to 'paid' - so it really is a bit of 'gaming the system' based on the lag at NVC, to get even a day or two shaved off the time and timing.

re: subject line - here's what I put - Ryan put something similar:

AOS GZO2013xxxxxx

don't forget the biodata on petitioner and beneficiary in the body of the email, or NVC will bounce it back.

Also, make sure you are using the current/new version of the I-864 - usage of the old/prior one stopped on 6/23/2013. the new version is 9 pages, prior version is 8 pages.

---

re: IV set - if you have already paid the IV FEE BILL - then is ok to send out the IV set - subject line:

IV GZO2013XXXXXX

---

remember - IV and AOS are different things, different fees, though all are sent in to the same email address. is also different queues for reviewing them and adding to the casefile.

---

AOS set gets the AOS coversheet.

IV set gets the IV coversheet.

Coversheets are viewable, gettable from from payment portal. if you don't see a coversheet yet, then usually that means you not have invoice to pay in the system, yet. also - navigation between IV and AOS at the portal is not so intuitive, you'll have to experiment a bit.
