at least you got an RFE, that means its soon and you should be able to get the NOA2, we are still clueless as to our status...that is the hardest thing:( so yeah, feel better about it for now. you would get it soon:)

I sent this email to the USCIS Ombudsman:

The California Service Center hasn't updated their Field Office Processing Dates since February 28, 2013. The processing dates need to be updated monthly.

There have been major delays on some types of visa applications and petitions. The reason for the delays need to be made public, and reasons stated clearly on your USCIS home page.
The USCIS CSC projected "Processing Times" are misleading and in violation of the Freedom of Information Act.
It is the USCIS administrators responsibility to assure the public is informed on a "current and timely" basis.
I would like to know when these deficiencies will be addressed?
Please send a response to this inquiry.

Their response was innocuous:

Your recent correspondence has been received in the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman).

Under the authority of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the CIS Ombudsman assists individuals and employers who experience specific problems during the USCIS benefits seeking process, largely to identify problems and to formulate recommendations to improve the USCIS service. First- hand information from individuals like you is a key resource for identifying systemic problems in the immigration benefits process. Your input has been shared with individuals in our office who are monitoring these types of issues, and it will be considered as we develop recommendations to improve USCIS’ practices and procedures.

Please let our office know if we can assist you in the future.

Sincerely,

AP

Article from: http://www.newtimesslo.com/commentary/9384/love-immigration-and-congressional-representation/

As of Dec. 31, 2012, the USCIS posted on its website that it was processing fiancé(e) visa applications there from July 18, 2012. As of Jan. 31, 2013, the USCIS posted on its website that it was processing fiancé(e) visa applications from July 18, 2012. As of Feb. 28, 2013, the USCIS posted on its website—you guessed it—that it was processing fiancé(e) visa applications from July 18, 2012.

The California Service Center had been processing applications from that one day in July for two to six months? For this to be true, next to no visas would have had to be processed over that time, given the average processing times for this visa from the past two years. The stated average wait-time had gone from the five months I read when I applied to an official 7 1/2 months as of Feb. 28. Assuming no change, the wait now could be more than eight months. Such an exceptional slowdown would be confusing if there wasn’t a concurrent increase in another place.

While the DREAM Act that President Barack Obama champions to help naturalize the children of immigrants who entered the United States illegally hasn’t yet fully been realized in Congress, the president did move forward with an aspect of it under the executive action he took on June 15, 2012. This action, called the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), aims to allow the children of these immigrants legal leeway in terms of their legal status in the United States. The idea will likely bring relief to many families, but it may be a victim of its own success. More than 400,000 of these applications were submitted in the first six months of its implementation, with a significant percentage of them going to the California Service Center. So many were submitted that on March 8 the California Service Center sent some of its overflow to the Texas Service Center. Most of these applications (which greatly outnumber fiancé(e) visas) have been approved quickly, with the current waiting time at about six months. To achieve these numbers, it appeared that the USCIS had significantly slowed or even stopped processing fiancé(e) visas to cope with the DACA workload.

I would think that most of the people applying for the DACA are of Mexican descent. The CSC is located in Laguna Niguel, Southern California. I have noticed that the USCIS is involved in a lot of class action law suits.

Igor’s list will not have much if any activity for CSC I-129F petitions today.

Out of ALL I-129F petitions 2 NOA2s and 4 RFEs have been given so far today!!!

THAT’S FOR ALL PENDING PETITIONS!!!

3 of the 4 REFs were for January filers.

We are trying to find out why all I-129F activity has stopped so abruptly.

The data still stands with only 2 NOA2s and 4 RFEs for the 17th from CSC for I-129F petitions.

One NOA2 for a filer with a March 18th NOA1.

One NOA2 for a filer with a December 4th NOA1.

3 RFEs for January filers.

1 RFE for an August filer.

As we hinted at previously in another thread, we expected a more gradual slowdown starting the 21st to the 28th. This drastic of stoppage in processing was unexpected, and occurred a few days before we expected a slowdown.

Sorry, we were not able to give a better heads up.

Ok, after skipping 2 normal update times USCIS shows a total of 264 reviews for the 17th.
The numbers for January filers did fall to 44 reviews. This is lower than the January reviews since the 10th.
If trends hold true then we should see a gradual decline in January reviews through the 22nd and an increase in reviews throughout the rest of the USCIS backlog over the next week. This is closer to what we had expected to see.
Keep in mind that making a predictive analysis is still a new endeavor based on our data.

My partner and I are June 2012 filers had an RFE December 2012 was received at the VSC Feb 2013 we were told in March it could take up to 90 days, I sent an e request 3 weeks ago received a reply a week later informing me our RFE is with a review officer and we would have a decision within 60 days. Every week my partner calls he is either told no change, last week he was told leave it a week or they get very short with him.
