AHHH and RELIGION.

No matter how long you wait I actually don't have to or need to explain that religion is not a race.

Let't take a look at that shall we, her name is Seema Jilani: http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/seema-jilani

Now, care to tell me why she was stopped and all those other women were let throught with no problem? Or care to explain why as a muslim she was singled out?

Tell you what, pick one and let's discuss it like gentlemen.

Even if I don't like it I'm still not stupid enough to pretend I don't know why she was singled out as a Muslim with no ticket trying to get in at the White House.

That isn't 'racism' though any more than it isn't racism when they turn foreigners away at the Saudi Aramco security gate for no badge or forgotten badge while they let Saudis through (saudis who do not live there LOL) unchecked.

No really.

Explain.

Allow me Val;

It's the percieved notion that certain ethnicities will be more likely to follow Islam, you know, like the assumptions you have about black people.

you are unaware that americans typically associate muslims with nonwhites? i don't believe that.

I am aware that you make that association.

LOL.....EXACTLY like that or just somewhat like that?

I'm still waiting for you to tell me this isn't racist. The white ladies they let through were no better than this woman.

Timeline

The faux red carpet had been laid out for the famous and the wannabe-famous. Politicians and journalists arrived at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, bedazzled in the hopes of basking in a few fleeting moments of fame, even if only by osmosis from proximity to celebrities. New to the Washington scene, I was to experience the spectacle with my husband, a journalist, and enjoy an evening out. [...] You see, as a spouse I was not allowed into the actual dinner. Those of us who are not participating in the hideous schmooze-fest that is this evening are relegated to attending the cocktail hour only, if that.

As I left the hotel and my husband went to the ballroom for the dinner, I realized he still had my keys. [...] For the next half hour, they watched as I frantically called my husband but was unable to reach him.

I watched as they let countless other women through -- all Caucasian -- without even asking to see their tickets. [...] My suspicion was confirmed when I saw the men ask a blonde woman for her ticket and she replied, "I lost it." The snickering tough-guy responded, "I'd be happy to personally escort you down the escalators ma'am."

IMHO this is a typical case of acute HCS - Humongous Chip on Shoulder. She thought she might be able to charm her way into the dinner and rub elbows with the very crowd she feigns to despise in derision, in her narrative, and her plan failed to launch.

She failed to realize - as a real journalist would have - that she would not need to exacerbate the alleged display of racism by juxtaposing it to her questionable interpretation of the events. I seriously doubt that anyone would get anywhere near the dinning room where the POTUS would be, without a ticket, only a few days after the Boston events.

She cries ''foul' when she actually means 'I am sure they are sour'.

I am waiting for you to convince me that not allowing this person into the actual dinner when they are not allowed into the area where the actual dinner was held is racist.

Nowhere does anything here say that "white ladies that were not supposed to be allowed" into the actual dinner were allowed anyway

Withdraw the question. Libs are just as capable of making broad-brushed generalizations as anyone else it appears rofl.gif

The lady who lost her ticket was personally escorted down, why couldn't the same be done for Ms. Jilani?

The comment you all is racist, that's what I am talking about, but I know you can't explain it.

Ms Jilani didn't have a ticket to begin with that's why.

The comment "you all" was applied because people who commit crimes and then publicly associate their crimes with Islam succeed in getting those crimes associated with Islam by non-Muslims.

The "you all" was not associated with race, it was associated with religion and guess what is the solution to this? It lies within Islam iteslf and it is the responsibility of Muslims to self-police and ensure that the crimes associated with the religion by those who commit them are NOT associated with religion by those who are non-Muslim. Until this happens and happens on a large scale and the zealouts are systematically weeded out this attitude is to be expected.

As a bonus and since it's you kindly apply the above comment to the inner city, urban, black community as well.
