Getting an interview appointment has been a problem since Yolanda hit and the embassy started expediting those affected (rightly so). And I believe it will continue to be an issue until all those affected by Yolanda have been processed.

Even though there are not any appointments available currently, except for a random cancellation, you will do better to schedule online then calling the embassy. When calling the embassy they look at the same calendar as you would look at online, which currently is NO calendar, but online you stand a chance of snagging a random cancellation if you are persistent with checking the site.

How you doing on your appointment? if so how far out is it?

Hank, I do have a stupid question for you.. ;)

Suppose someone will cancel their appointment date and it will appear at the bottom left of my dashboard, stating that the earliest date is ... , do I need to click it in order for me to choose it as my appointment date or I have to click on Continue and go through all the steps and the calendar will show and that's the time that I can choose it as my appointment date...

Just trying to make sure that I wont be able to miss any available slot (hopefully)...

Thanks much...

I don't think clicking on the date will do anything (don't know for fact as we didn't have this appointment issue back then), I think you have to quick click on the continue to schedule an appointment and hope someone else doesn't grab it before you. A calendar should show up with just that date as available.

If I am wrong on this someone will jump in I am sure, then I will learn right along with you, but logic says you need to click on the continue to schedule an appointment.

I haven't see any interview dates at all. Been refreshing the home screen every 20 minutes last night late and this afternoon. I understand your frustration--all of the papers we have to get are slow in coming.

I saw a few days ago there were some opening june 3rd and june 5th did you get any of those? I choose to wait a while as she is still waiting the 2 weeks wait period for her doctors exam :( otherwise i would have snatched one of those days,

No I didn't see those, but this morning I saw May 29 (3 slots). Obviously I didn't take it because it's way too soon and she hasn't had her medical yet. We're planning for her to go to Manila June 2 to get the medical, then I'll go for the first available date. I still have to do the DS160 form, but figure I can do that as soon as she can send me a digital visa photo.

I should have got one - I am thinking i will not be going to the interview- I dont think me going there would be financially responsible as i have to pay someone to take care of my business while I am away - it cost me 3-4 K when i leave for 2 weeks plus I am not generating any income so i take a big hit when i leave-Not to mention they have not time frame you can plan flights around - So I would rather just her go to the interview and I pay for the tickets for her to come directly here- If this is not a good idea anyone please enlighten me- thanks

Everyone has a different situation here. I'm lucky because I am a teacher and can go over there for a month or two during the summer. I plan to go at the end of June and spend July there. We have two kids (3 and 5) and I have appointments for them July 1 and 3 for CRBA and passports. I'm hoping we can schedule her interview sometime soon so maybe they can all return with me at the end of July. But I understand your situation, and as we all know we stay connected long distance in various ways and can offer support for each other wherever we are.

That is a fine idea, you don't need to be at the interview.
