Welcome to america Bombay

Generally they say 3-4 weeks but mine took 7 weeks. The stamp in your passport acts as your temporary green card, for travel, work etc.

I agree it can take month or longer and as Lorelle stated the stamp in your visa is your temporay one now. In our case Mian got his within one month of his arrival.

Also if you checked the DS-230 for your social security card it should arrive around the same time as well or in some cases sooner. Welcome to the USA and enjoy your reunion.

Welcome to USA. My wife's green card arrived within 3-4 weeks, but the timing can vary. First you will receive a mail from USCIS, Mesquite, Texas which is a welcome to America mail. It will basically say that USCIS has received the paperwork from the POE and within 30 days (usually it takes 1-2 week), you will receive mail from them. When you receive your USCIS welcome letter, you can expect your greencard to arrive within 7-14 days.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
