Are there any Australian/Oceanian DV selectees out there?

Hi all,

I also hail from OZ. selected for DV greencard. I went for my interview and biometrics, over 8 months ago, and

havn't received any notification or passports. My case number is low < 50.

An enquiry email by me, got a generic response that my file was in order and undergoing "administrative processing",

and that my case was submitted on the day of my interview.

My concerns are that visas will be depleted; the sept 30 th cut-off date is looming; and 2 of my kids passports

are due to expire and I need the old ones in order to renew. Patience is a virtue hey ..

Does anyone know what happens if one day you want to get rid of your green card and become an Australian resident again? I heard that there could be some sort of tax implication where you have to keep paying american tax?

If you want to get rid of your green card then you abandon your US residency which means you are no longer liable to pay tax as far as I understand. Probably best to let USCIS or IRS or whoever needs to know that you are doing this though. I'm assuming that you won't have followed through with a citizenship application in this scenario.
