private guns are the only thing that stands in the way of tyranny in this country.

I'm confused. I thought when the Kenyan lied his way into a second term for which he was not legally qualified to serve we already were feeling the harsh boot of tyranny at our throats.

And handguns that escape detection in metal detectors are desirable why again? You short sighted gun nuts really never cease to amaze.

So you are in favor of strict controls on box cutters and utility knives ? How about pressure cookers.

I mean box cutters resulted in the death of more people on 9-11, than assault weapons ever have total. Makes sense to ban them right.

indeed. it was a warning sign to the non-gun owners to step up and exercise their constitutional obligation to protect this blessed country from tyranny by purchasing a gun. just ask yourself, what kind of gun would Jesus want you to own?

The 300+ million private guns already out there haven't done the trick? We need plastic guns coming off a printer on top of that to keep tyranny at bay? Funny how other countries have freedom w/o having more guns than citizens while other countries that have more guns than citizens like we do are anything but free and prosperous. I've started considering the very real possibility that freedom has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not a citizenry is armed. I've started considering the possibility that that equation is nonsense that only gun nuts believe in.

No, because these don't account for 70% of all homicides committed in this country. Firearms do. These items also have a primary purpose other than to kill. Firearms do not.

As to the 9/11 reference, the reason they used box cutters was that those could be gotten through airport security. They'd have taken firearms if they could have. With a plastic firearm, they'll be able to do that. And we certainly want to make sure that terrorists have all the equip[ment they need to inflict maximum damage. That's why we need to celebrate printable firearms. Gun nuttery at it's finest.

Agree. This gun stuff is reaching fanatical proportions now. People really need to ponder that 300 million number.

Number of Cell phones in use in the U.S: 310 million

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_mobile_phones_in_use

Number of Firearms in the U.S.: 310 million -- Total number of nonmilitary firearms in the United States as of 2009.

http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/RL32842.pdf

Imagine trying to account for every cell phone in this country. Impossible. I don't think any amount of legislation is going to bring that number under control. I know some people think it's awesome that there's that many firearms in this country. Personally, I think it shows some kind of collective mental illness.

Why there needs to be a non-military firearm for every man woman and child in this country is beyond me.

Unfortunately, I don't think anything can be done about it in the near future.

But we need plastic guns.

Especially one shot plastic guns that with current technology cost in the neighborhood of three grand! Harumph for freedom!
