Hi, my wife's status online changed from "working on fingerprints; don't call us we'll call you" that has been up there for two years to this:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Fingerprints review completed.

Review of the fingerprints taken relating to this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS has been completed. Processing of this case continues. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Now, we had our interview last December, about a year ago, and were approved pending the FBI. Been waiting on the FBI name check ad nauseum, to the point that I have a Writ of Mandamus lawsuit ready to go.

That said --- has anybody else received this right before actually getting the green card? Please tell me that we can expect some sort of good news in the midst of every Congressional person saying, "oopsy poopsy, nothing WE can do about it..."

USCIS have been updating their website and therefore updating the messages which mere mortals like us are waiting for with bated breath. This is just a re-wording of your current status... do a quick search of this forum and you will find many of us who got new messages but didn't get any touches on our case.

All I can say is check your status online, and see if anybody has touched your case since last time. Otherwise just look on this as a re-wording of your last message.

Sorry dude... We were all quite excited at the weekend all thinking we were finally getting somewhere with our cases, but it turns out the only thing that has changed are the notices.

Nevertheless, here's hoping for a speedy outcome since you officially have word your fingerprints are done (Mine just said it's now pending at the office to which it was transferred - but we already knew that).

Sigh

House of Rep people are toothless, but Senatorial minions are not that much more effective when it comes to namecheck. I have been in close contact with 3 Senate offices --- NC by virtue of physical res, WA by permanent residence, and NY since that is where my wife is living right now.

The net result has been no result. "It's out of our hands" --- and when your Senator's office recommends suing, that is one pathetic commentary on the Federal Government.

The fact that this purgatory is exponentially ruining our marriage = not important at all. But, if they were in my position, somehow I get the feeling it would not be "out of our hands" to do anything...

  • 10 months later...

This is a old thread, but I just learned of this option recently and I want to know if I could benefit from such a petition to the US Courts.

as some of you probably already know, I filed a I-130 in July 2006. To date, I'm still waiting on a NOA2. Repeated calls to my Congressman. Contacts with a State Senator and also writing to the USCIS Ombudsman, I still have no NOA2 after 14 months. I'm told I'm in background checks. If I were a threat to the country, wouldn't they have found something now?

I would appreciate your helpful responses on this matter... This is becoming a very difficult time for my wife and I. I feel I must DO SOMETHING!!

Firstly what is your status in the USA, Citizen or LPR? Both citizens and LPRs can file I-130 but it can take a few years for a the I-130 to process through USCIS to NVC.

If you are a US Citizen, I would be contacting a lawyer and asking filing a Writ of Mandamus lawsuit would pressure USCIS to get moving on this.
