Applying for Borther's visa -

He went in to get his DOB certificate and he got nothing (believe me it can happen in INDIA)

He has sent me "not found DOB" certificate NOT his DOB certificate.

Can I use that certificate and other documents to prove that we both have same father as our education certificate has our father name?

Please help.

You have one piece of information now get the rest following below.

Option 3 from below should work for your case.

Unobtainable birth certificates

If your birth record is not obtainable for any reason, a certified statement must be obtained from the appropriate government authority explaining why your birth record is unavailable. You must also submit secondary evidence such as:

  • A baptismal certificate that contains the date and place of birth, as well as both parents names (providing the baptism took place shortly after birth)
  • An adoption decree for an adopted child
  • An affidavit from a close relative, preferably your mother, stating the date and place of birth, both parents names, and your mother’s maiden name.

Note: An affidavit executed before an official authorized to take oaths or affirmations must also be provided. More specific information is available from the NVC.

When you go to registrar of birth/death office and want to get DOB certificate, they will either give you that or give you a document stating "Not Found".

But in your case, Your father is no more and have no marriage certificate. May be your mother elder brother/sister can testify that she is born on date and she is married to father... May be yourown uncle/aunty from your father side can certify that she is married to your father on date.

Your education or DOB certificate should have your's parents name...

You can use that for your documents too.

For marriage certificate I have got a self affidavit prepared by my mother and got it notorized and also two affidavit one from my fathers side (mothers brother in law) and one from my mom side her uncle who were present at the time of my mothers marriage .

Is notorized good enough or we need to get it form first class magistrate (that's tough)

I have no format available, it all depend on which office/city/state you are going to get the certificate. Our was simple letter address to my brother.

You are good with the marriage certificates.... It should be notorized and it should be printed on court papers (it is a paper you can buy from court area... it has ruppee value stamped on it).

You need to visit the court area in your city.
