Chaine, you mean to tell me you spent 8 years in school to be a MDC? (Doctor of Crapola Medicine)?

I'd prefer the term MDFM - Doctor of Fecal Material. Provider of fecal transplants (real procedure).

Even this might be approaching the edge of my comfort zone...

As soon as I'm into my second cup of coffee. If I drink to much coffee during the day, I'll be making extra visits to the throne.

My wife's family's biggest worry when she came her was her unregular poo. She was always getting bound up, doesn't believe me when I say its too much rice either. Got her on activia when I couldn't convince her to take a probiotic pill. Worked like a charm, and eventually she accepted taking a probiotic pill instead. I knew she'd get sick of eating yogurt every day. The reason her family was so worried was a friend of my wife died from constipation shortly before my wife came here. Since my wife was constantly having the same problem, they were sure she was at risk to.

Hey MD of poo, why would they operate on someone who couldn't poo? That's about all I know about my wife's friend, couldn't poo, they operated and she was dead the next day. I keep saying something else must have been wrong, but they all swear that was the reason. BTW they also swear one of her brothers died because he had a snake spirit twin, and someone killed the snake. They never saw the snake, dead or alive, but that's why he died lol

There's some pretty crazy thinking when you get into the provinces of the Philippines. My wife still surprises me with strange beliefs. Usually prefaced with they say, or the old people, just yesterday I learned if a husband steps over his wife's legs while she's having her period, it will be a stinky period. I had to step back over her legs, then she moved them so I could walk by just in case. I couldn't help thinking since when did a period smell good?

I'm not actually a MD of poo....just a very curious observer (can't believe I just typed that).

But..constipation can be a serious issue. She could have had a fecal impaction - basically the colon's job is to reabsorb water from fecal material, and that's why you don't constantly have diarrhea. When you have diarrhea, stool doesn't stick around in the colon long enough to dehydrate. So if stool sticks around in the colon too long, it will continue to lose water, it can become so hard you can't pass it.

I thought most fecal impactions were treated by some serious laxative meds...maybe she had a tumor associated with it that was causing the constant constipation, and thus the need for surgery? Or stool was so hard caused a perforation in the colon? Dunno. Maybe a real doctor of poo can tell us.

Anway, take home message - constipation is bad. I try to avoid it like the plague.

It's pretty weird, but first thing her family always wanted to know when they talked was if she's pooing regularly. They even sent some strange tea that will clear your insides out real good, in a rather violent way my wife tells me. My thought was always her system wasn't in balance, and she just needed a supplement to get it that way. Probiotics have worked great for her. I never even realized she had that problem for years, until she arrived here. She literally does a little happy dance on occasion as she returns from the bathroom because its never an issue now. I guess if I'd dealt with the issue for years and suddenly everything worked right again, I'd do a happy dance to.

hehe...I'll help then. My answers to the above:

1. around 7:00 am. Right after breakfast and coffee.

2. After dinner. More relaxing than morning when I'm in a rush to get out the door.

3. See above. Also, anytime a nice toilet is available.

4. hmmm...I'm not sure there is a normal time. But from my perspective - after breakfast.

5. About 5 minutes. Hate sitting on the toilet.

6. 5 minutes out of 24 hours? That's about 0.3 % of my day (5/1440 minutes in a day)
