I got an email on November 8th saying they scheduled my interview for December 6 and have yet to receive my packet 4. I call the consulate using the 235 extention cause I email with no response as well, and the woman tells me she doesnt deal with fiance visas and cant tell me anything! I know I have called this number before and got an answer when I wanted to see when Packet 3 was sent out now this! I am just freaking out cause I cant believe how difficult it is to get a straight answer! Has anyone else used this extention lately? Have you spoken to someone who deals with these cases? thanks

I don't know the answer but if it was me I would be driving to the Consulate or Embassy tomorrow morning

Bizarre. But you DO have an interview date, and you DO have the email to prove it, which I'd print out. You also know enough from what's shared here to put together the forms, which is what I'd start doing.

Meanwhile, keep calling the Consolate and hope you get a different person on the line. Your Package 4 might appear soon, so hang in there!

Sometimes that happens, I've been told the same thing. If it happens again, ask her to transfer you to the person who does deal with fiance visas.

I think my fiancee's first letter didn't get out as quickly as we would've liked. You still have two weeks so I'd wait a few more days to see what happens.

I believe it was several weeks to get my "package 4", which is just the letter indicating what date the interview is. Since this is what you show to the guard at the front door, I'd do as was said earlier already, and make a copy of the email, just to confirm, and to show the guard, just in case it doesn't show up.

I know there is no reason for anyone to be rude on the phone. I don't know if it was because it was a Friday or not, nor do I know if the phone calls were transferred to the people in the area where I had my interview, but I remember thinking a few times while I was waiting, before and after I got the visa...."how do these people get any work done with the phone ringing all the time???"

I know I hate waiting, and at what point do you say, is it lost? is it just slow? Having been to the Consulate, I'd say, they're slow because they do not have as much staff as they need.

While it's SO nice people did arrange transfers to Vancouver, this might mean at some point, that there are more delays, or impatient staff?

I ended up calling back the number again and think I got the same girl as before. I asked her if there was anyone else besides this lady who is unavailable and with whom I have left a message with already. She abruptly put me on hold and transfered me to this woman who deals with K1 visas. Who was pretty rude..and she came on the telephone and asked me if I was angry toward the firt woman. I said no not at all, I did ask to speak with someone else but I was not angry. I likely had a tone more out of frustration I will admit that. So she claims she sent out the letter and told me that I could use the email they sent out. Which is good to know. I explained to her that I have emailed and cant get a response, and our lawyer has emailed thie VancouverK email and with no response. She informed me that she will only answer your email once and the rest she does not even look at. Good to know. Just one thing after another in this process. I just thought it was funny cause it tells you in your packet 3 to contact via email or fax but dont expect more than on answer. All is well now.Thanks everyone for you help and advice. I would be lost without this forum.

WOW - sounds like they are in angry consulate worker mode over there. Flood of transfers? I sent a few emails with no responses, but when I call they give me the info. So I think they are just doing what they need / want to. They probably recognize your name /email when you call!

I think they're catching on to us.... LOL
