Thanks to the help of our Congressman the last stage of this process was pushed through and we were expedited from NVC to the Embassy. He then had to call again to push for an interview date as we were told our paperwork would take 6-8 weeks to process (why the Embassy would agree to expedite and then make you wait 6-8 weeks to process the D-230 I will never know).

Anyway, interview was last Friday, visa arrived yesterday (Wed) and I fly this Sunday. Not a moment too soon as my cut off for flying (due to pregnancy) is next week!!

This has been a hellacious journey from start to finish, and I'm not going to get excited until I am leaving the airport in the USA, as we all know this journey seems to take unusual twists and turns.

Good luck and prayers to all of you patiently waiting. I am happy to offer any advice or help to anyone in a similar situation to us. I'm no expert, but I know what we did/didn't do which may help someone.

Thank you to the VJ community for the information, smiles, and for keeping me occupied for endless lonely hours. This website is a Godsend and the support has been wonderful.

REMAINED ON STUDENT VISA 08-11
9th July 2012: I-130 filed
16th July 2012: NOA1 received(estimate as it never actually showed up in mail!)
18th March 2013: NOA2 (252 days)
25th March: Case received at NVC
4th April 2013: Case Number assigned
9TH April 2013: NVC email received
11th April 2013: Expedite to Embassy approved

17th April 2013: Case recieved by Embassy

18th April 2013: DS-230/2001 sent direct to Embassy

30th April: Embassy 'can't locate' forms

1st May 2013: DS-230/2001 resent recorded delivery

2nd May 2013: Interview date emailed for next day!

3rd May 2013: Approved at Interview

8th May 2013: Visa Arrived

Hey ! Congratulations ! When you get stateside, send off a small gift to that ILS Human ... (something under 20 bucks)...

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
