Question about the entire I-130 process (from beginning to end)

Just to make sure I understand the entire process, can someone clarify the timeline and make sure I have it correct:

1: file for I-130 for spouse, include whatever they ask on the instruction sheet.

2: I should receive the NOA 1 email at that point (a few weeks later)

3. I should receive the NOA 2 a few months later to fill out another form for AOS, Medical, police clearance, tc (I'm assuming they'll specify what documents they need),

4. Approval or Denial

5. She is in her home country, so if she is approved, does she now go to the U.S for her interview, or is it done at her home country? If in the U.S, does she get a letter that she can show immigration so they will let her pass? Does she get a stamp on her passport to show she is a legal resident?

What about work authorization? When is that going to be requested?

If she is approved, how much time does she have to land in the U.S? I thought I read 6 months, but I wasn't too sure. I want to make sure we have enough time to take care of personal matters before we leave.

To be totally successful you should be studying your wifes countries forums and ask what others presetrd in their petition as evidence. Every embassy is different. Since I can't tell what country no way to advise you.

2: I should receive the NOA 1 email at that point (a few weeks later).

If you attach the G1145 you usually get text and email and the hardcopy I-797C (We call NOA11) comes within 30 days. That syour receipt #

3. I should receive the NOA 2 a few months later to fill out another form for AOS, Medical, police clearance, tc (I'm assuming they'll specify what documents they need),

NOA2 depends on where your petition gets sent for adjudication. figuire 5 to 7 months.

After approval at USCIS your petition is sent to NVC. Go here to the NVC filers thread read Post #1 and #2 get familiaer so you know the next stage.

5. She is in her home country, so if she is approved, does she now go to the U.S for her interview, or is it done at her home country?

No she will interview in her home country at the US Embassy.

If in the U.S, does she get a letter that she can show immigration so they will let her pass?

You mean if she is visiting she would should her Visa stamp of course

Does she get a stamp on her passport to show she is a legal resident?

She gets a stamp when she gores through Port of entry and usually within 30 days her Social security card and green card will arrive

What about work authorization? When is that going to be requested?

You are a CR1/IR1 everything is done once she lands. Soon as she gets her Social security card in mail she is set to work and do whatever she wants. There's nothing to file.

If she is approved, how much time does she have to land in the U.S?

You have 6 montsh from the time of medical to immigrate to US after you receive Visa.
