J-1 Visa put into Administrative Processing after SEVIS Fee Problems

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar situation and just wondering how long it took them to get out of administrative processing. I have an intern-ship at a big software company in the states. I am a Chinese passport holder, currently a permanent resident of Canada, who use to be a F2, and H4 dependant of the US, and had lived in the US for approx. 8 years.

I received my DS2019 form around April 20th, went to the US consulate in Toronto, Canada, on the 26th, and had my visa approved after some question. The interviewer said something along the lines of, "we approve your visa, wait 3-5 business days," and handed me a white sheet, with blue text, telling me to pick up my passport at a certain location when the website updated.

I waited about 6 days, and having a deadline, I emailed into the Toronto Non Immigrant Visa email address, asking how long it would take, and possibly expediting the process as I needed the visa very soon to meet my start date. At this point, https://ceac.state.gov/ was telling me my passport was READY, and last update on the 29th. They responded, telling me I had not paid my SEVIS fee, which was odd as the company had paid for me, and given me a I-901 form. I emailed them back, providing them with a picture of the I-901 form. They have not replied to me since. I checked the CEAC website yesterday, and it has now changed to Administrative Processing, from which I understand as a extra security check, and may take many months, and having update the last status date to yesterday, the 7th. Just wondering if anyone has had this situation and if I had done anything wrong?
