hi,

I am trying to sponsor my wife to Canada Ontario from Bangladesh since last year july 2012. Her application was sent to the Canada immigration office here in Canada in July 2012. She has got the permanent residency approval to Canada in October 2012 and since then it is been sitting their in Singapore. Its been about 7 months and the canadian Immigration office in Singapore is still working on her file. The last time I heard from them they said that her application is in the review process and that was about 5 months ago. They had also mentioned that the her application approval my take from 12 to 24 months. Is there anyone out there who is or has faced this problem? Is there an way I can expedite her application? Please help.

Thank you.

Most here are going to the USA. Better site would be http://www.roadtocanada.com/forums/index.php

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

It is true like above fellow VJer mentioned that here, is a forum for U.S. immigration or non-immigration visas.

To answer your question, maybe give CIC a call.

You said " She has got the permanent residency approval to Canada in October 2012 ", do you mean she was ready to land as a permanent resident of Canada?
