The average IQ of immigrants in the United States is substantially lower than that of the white native population, and the difference is likely to persist over several generations. The consequences are a lack of socioeconomic assimilation among low-IQ immigrant groups, more underclass behavior, less social trust, and an increase in the proportion of unskilled workers in the American labor market. Selecting high-IQ immigrants would ameliorate these problems in the U.S., while at the same time benefiting smart potential immigrants who lack educational access in their home countries.

My wife's cousin - genetically disadvantaged as she may be according to this guy - just graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA in biomedical science. She has been chased by dozens of universities to pursue her PhD with them. There were just over 5,000 graduates this spring at her university and less than 30 of them achieved that perfect GPA. On the stage at her graduation ceremony were seven of these super achievers and none of them were white. Quite amazing how the genetically disadvantaged outperform their white peers, isn't it?

Oh, and my wife's other cousin - this young woman's younger sister - is following in the same footsteps. She is set to graduate high school in the top 0.5% of her class as well. Must all be a mistake. Probably affirmative action or something since these two gals could not possibly achieve what they achieve being not only black but also from one of the poorest parts of the world.

If it's genetic then it stands to reason that out of a crowd of 5,000 more than a proportion of the genetically superior would stand up there with the super achievers. That is not what transpired there. What I'm saying is that people can achieve if they try - no matter their race or origin. These two gals are first generation immigrants that have been in this country for less than 5 years. And they do better than anyone in these large organizations - be that the university the older one attended or the public school system in this county. That's pretty impressive for two supposedly genetically disadvantaged young women, isn't it?

I am not addressing the point that the immigrant population overall isn't as smart as born and raised Americans. I don't have any data on that but I somehow doubt that that is actually true. The bias the author of the study has weighs pretty heavy in my mind. I wouldn't want to take whatever he says too seriously knowing what his bias is.
