Hi VJ,

So to day was me and my wifes AOS interview... we got there around 8:45 am. 15 mins early, once we got through security we were sent to a interview waiting room... we were called in around 9:30 am.. Our IO was a black lady who did not smile at all through the whole process. She was rude right from the start. I came here on a F1 student visa she asked why I didn't go back when I stopped school. I panicked and messed up my answer. I said I was having financial problems that's why i stopped school and im looking forward to start back up. My mistake was i didnt include my wife in the answer. The next problem was when she asked whether I have ever been arrested. I said yes for a misdemeanor charge which was dropped later on & I submitted the court document that proved that the case was dropped. Then she said she needs a police clearance and will mail a letter relating to it. Finally she said she has to review the case a little bit more and let us know the decision. We submitted joint bank accounts, Joint insurance, joint lease, text messages etc. I think we should be ok. Am I gonna get a RFE on the police clearence? any idea my fellow VJ members!

*** Moving from AOS from Family Visa to AOS from Student Visa ***

Did she mean a police clearance related to your arrest or from your home country?

I haven't done it myself, but I would imagine you would contact the police department that arressted you and they would be able to provide you with the clearance.
