Nvc received our AOS package on 5/6. IV package was sent in previous week. So we are expecting a case complete in next week or so.

I've read embassy does not assign a interview date until a medical is done is that correct? Should my wife book an appointment for the medical for next available date now so there is not much delay in assigning a interview date?

For a CR1 processed through NVC, the embassy will not schedule your interview. It will be scheduled by NVC. You will have time to get your medical done when you are complete or even after you know the interview date.

It is K1 and DCF cases that must have a medical before London gives an interview date.
