We got an RFE too today. I was expecting this though coz we didn't have the intent to marry letters. We paid an immigration lawyer to file for us and she forgot to ask us about this. RFE to me is still good news though, they've finally touched our case. dancin5hr.gif

I am lost! I feel like a panic attack right now.

1. How long does it take for this letter to arrive? Do people answer you over the phone about this RFEs at the USCIS?

If you guys knew what we sent... We sent a file with approximately 600 pages including:

- pictures

- phone bills

- skype, gmail conversations, emails

- flight tickets...

- wedding prep. documents...

- the ring certificate?

What exactly could be missing? Is this something I need to be worried about? Is too much too bad?

FYI they made a mistake at the beginning and put that I was from Salvador Bahamas instead of El Salvador. Could that be related?

Any comments or experiences from also RFE's requested would be greatly appreciated.

STOP panicing :) Look at this from the bright side, you are very close getting approved :) Usually people get approved a week after their RFE response, so this is actually good compared to some of us who are still waiting :P

But yes... Everything is in God's hands and I need to wait...

True, all in His mighty Hands. Don't panic, it could just be a minor thing, considering you were thorough in sending documentation of your relationship (wow, 600 pages! smile.png )

Thank you guys! for your advice... and responses. They put a smile on my face, makes me feel there are others also going through the same...

I hear you... Hopefully It will get better. I am just in awe... haha with a big shock!

It was indeed about 600 pages... with all the information possible... but at this point I will take a deep breath! and keep waiting.

By the way, my total package was under 15 pages. It makes it a lot easier to dot the i's and cross the t's when the stack of documents is smaller. They are not looking for quantity, just enough quality to clear the hurdle requirements. In my opinion, make absolutely certain you meet the requirements, but don't overwhelm with too much extra info.

My two cents.

Same here, at most 30 pages and I didn't have any flight tickets, boarding passes in my package and approved. Sometimes too much could cause confusion and something could get lost in the shuffle through all that. Hope it is a simple fix for you both.

I'm the petitioner, and I got an RFE (Request for more Evidence) today via text and email. I called USCIS and asked what the RFE was about, but he couldn't tell me over the phone and told me to wait until the RFE arrives in the mail no longer than 15 days. At the 16th day I haven't received the RFE, he said to give them a call back. My guess for my RFE could be because I didn't add copies of my passport, or I switched the first and last names on the beneficiary's G-325a Biographic Information.

The most common error is on Question #18 on how you met and when you met. It is a two part question. They want to know your story of how you met and started a relationship, and then the second part is the proof of meeting within the past two years.
