We are sending off my husband's ROC today to Vermont. We are set to travel abroad on the 23rd, so I'm very concerned we won't have his NOA before we travel due to what seems like a delay in processing at the center right now. His GC expires while we're away. Can we get a NOA from the local service center? Any ideas?

You're most likely not gonna get anything by the 23rd, You guys really didn't plan this properly.

I think what you want to do is to get an infopass and have his passport stamped, they usually give it a 6 months. You may want to pray real good that they give you an infopass date before 23rd, which I really doubt if you're in NYC lol

This is essentially what I am going to do If I don't receive anything by mid-June because I am flying on a vacation in Mid-July

Yeah, I've tried to book an information appointment on InfoPass and there aren't any available. Thanks, though.

Well, we did plan this properly, but I'm trying really hard not to blame this on my husband for waiting until the last minute! ;-) In previous months people have received their NOA quickly, then all of the sudden for May it's slowed down. Very frustrating! We'll probably end up rebooking our trip for later in June.
