I have received the NOA1 dated April 23 so the clock has started. My fiance worked in Saudi for 11 years up until last December and UAE for 6 years prior to that. She is currently at home in the Philippines and is considering returning to work with her sponsor in Saudi until we receive NOA2. She has a good relationship with her sponsor and is confident she can return home any time she wants to. My questions are: 1. Would her return to Saudi during the I-129F process have any negative consequences? 2. How long will it take for a police certificate from Saudi? 3. Will she also need one from UAE even though it's been over ten years and if so how long will that take?

1. Would her return to Saudi during the I-129F process have any negative consequences? No, as long she makes it to her scheduled interview at USEM

2. How long will it take for a police certificate from Saudi? The police clearance should be available for collection after a week or two. http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9727

3. Will she also need one from UAE even though it's been over ten years and if so how long will that take? No. Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE. http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9666

Good luck!

Thanks Tintin and Mike, I'm going through the anxiety of waiting that I know is part of the process and I'm trying to figure out all the details of what will be required in the next phase. I'm still not sure how the police certificate is obtained. Does she get a specific form to submit to the Saudi embassy or does the US embassy contact them directly? Someone told me the Saudi police will conduct an investigation & speak with her employer there & it could take months for them to complete it.

If your fiance will be present in the country then they need to personally get it. Follow the instructions on the link and pay the fee to obtain it.
