Yes, we've discussed this just yesterday, I think. Gun homicides are down - same as all homicides are down. Still more than 2/3 of all homicides are perpetrated with guns. That hasn't changed.

yet you feel the guns should be taken away from law abiding citizens.

the internet is magic.

Clearly you have no clue how the a system works in background...lol

Yet you would not want to have database of ppl who cannot purchase gun but you want to have a database of all the gun owners.

So children are not part of public saftey?

So you think its justified to have a cop sitting all day to just type in one name and hit search?

of course they are. but we do not need armed police officers in every elementary school in the country. public paranoia is not justification for such an expense.

i don't know if you ever heard of computers, but there are folks who know how to create programs for them to do bs like run name checks..

and it certainly wouldn't need to be a cop doing the data entry, either.

i don't know ####### you're talking about. why are you so terrified of a database, containing names and eligibility to own guns?

Well, yes they are. That is why we need to end the easy and ready access to firearms for those that are not fit to handle them. That is the best approach because it addresses the root cause of the safety issue rather than the symptoms.

no way. one of the first things you lose whilst catching a charge is your driver's license.

why not just have a basic five dollar fee, form, po po run the name check and give you the all clear or no go. the internet is magic.

The background checks should be run by a pro-liberty non-profit, not the cops.

For computer program to run there needs a database.

I would not even go into cost and complexity about having such a software.

Do you get paranoid when you see president surrounded by guards? Do you get paranoid when you see senator and mayor guarded by armed guards?

Would you be comfortable if the NRA owned the data store?

I get concerned when I see 5-yo kids killing their siblings with guns. I can't shake the feeling there is something intrinsically wrong with that.

So go ahead have a database of ppl who should not and could not hold firearms.

Have database of ppl who are mentally unstable.

Why do you need a database of the law abiding citizen who own gun?

There are lot more harmful things for kids with much more easier access, get real.

Would you be comfortable if the NRA owned the data store?

Nope

We have databases of law abiding citizens who own a car. That doesn't mean I can't own a car. In fact, I own two. What's the issue with a database?
