Specifically this:

Pew also found that African Americans made up a disproportionate share of gun homicide victims - 55% in 2010, despite accounting for 13% of the overall population.

Around 27%.

Makes me wonder if any new restrictions on legal gun ownership will have any impact on gun violence in the African American community?

That would be determined by how folks doing all the killing are getting the guns. If the gang members or criminals are getting them through the internet, or from back door sales, tighter restrictions might help in that regard.

I think that is key right there. Are they simply stealing them? Are they buying them legally? Are they getting them via straw purchases? Are they legally buying them and then re-selling them illegally?

I'm sure it's probably a combination of all 4.

Yup, and that's why we need blanket nationwide gun laws. This state to state stuff and having different rules for gun shows is a joke.

I agree with that 100%. I knew guys in the 80s that were making a killing (pun intended) driving from NYC to Virginia on the weekends and buying guns there. Then turning around and selling them in NYC for something like 300% markup on the street. Granted I met these guys in Federal Prison, so it didn't go well for all of them.

Yeah, because a gun in the house makes you safer. Only there isn't a single shred of evidence to back that up. The opposite actually holds true. A gun in the house is 12 times more likely to kill a member or guest of that household than to fend off an intruder. But why am I talking facts here while quoting an article from The Blaze? They don't do facts over there.

Exactly!

That is simply not true.

Its just a propoganda by anti gun folks.

Infact last night for first time I heard NPR talk about the gun violence being lowest since 94
