EAD approved - Can I apply for work whilst waiting for the card to come?

My EAD was approved yesterday (card in production).

Do I need to wait for my card to be in hand before I can apply for jobs?

You can apply for jobs anytime you want. You do not need an EAD card or a GC to apply for jobs. However, you do need to have proper documentation in order to actually work which your future employer will require from you as you complete the I-9 form. On the I-9 form are those documents your future employer is suppose to verify that you are in fact legal to work in the US. Until you actually accept a job, you do not need any of these documents. Just remember that being approved and having the card in your hands are two different events and sometimes with a large time interval between them.
