Free/Cheap things to do in Montreal?

I don't want to have to travel a tonne, but I don't mind taking a few simple bus or subway routes either. I love to photograph and since late May tends to be a nice spring time (with FLOWERS! YAY) I'd like to get out to some parks or see some sights. I'm good at window shopping! LOL! I'd prefer very cheap - free. Just some sights or things that someone shouldn't miss while in Montreal ya know?

Also if there is an inexpensive grocery store downtown or some restaurants that are in the $ dollar range vs the $$ or $$$, that would be great! Load me up! I was thinking of indulging in a pedicure while I was there as well, so ideas on that would be nice, but I can easily to it at home too.

Thanks for any help!

I'll be there from the 27th to the 3rd.. My medical is on the afternoon of the 28th and my interview is the morning of the 3rd so everything in between. ;)

I did ask a french girl that used to work at my store for some ideas too. LOL she's gonna google it, (from what she's done) and get back to me with a list! dancin5hr.gif

I’ve been on the site a long time and knew it was there somewhere. When I googled, I couldn’t find it, so I scrolled back until I did.

We’re probably going to Poutineville on our trip as it’s been highly recommended. As long as we do lots of walking along with the consumption we should be fine. ;)

Add the list to the thread plz!

This will be going on while A&C and I are there... http://www.mutek.org/

But I doubt I'll be going.. some of the prices are kinda steep. I thought maybe some of it would be free. :(
