Dear Visa Journey members,

I just wanted to let you all know about a problem with USCIS that I recently encountered.

My NOA 2 was approved on March 25. I waited the 15 business days and after not hearing anything from the NVC, I sent an email to the NVC research department - they emailed me back saying that they sent an inquiry to the USCIS. I finally decided to call the USCIS myself today, and was appalled to find that my file still had not been sent to the NVC. The representative put in an expedited service request today.

That just because you recieve the NOA 2 it doesn't mean that the file has actually been physically sent. The only way to make sure is to keep calling them incessantly. I hope no one else has to go through the frustration I went through.

Regards,

pappupulusu

I am in the exact predicament. Eventhough I was approved in 49 days but my petition is still sitting at NBC since March 27th.

NVC has confrimed that they haven't received it.

SO my 90 days police report has just used a third of it's life.

Gosh sorry you already had got that police report. It's always advised to not get police report until you actually get case#.

My friend just reports after 76 days she finlly has arrived at NVC. She was also approved in 42 days back on February 24th. Don't know whats up with NBC but they need to get it together.

I pray Sir Gowon you arrive soonest to NVC.

My Brothers were home a few weeks ago so they brought all the important documents back for me.

It's okay though it's only N7k better than stressing about loosing all the docs in the mail. AT least they'll have a police report at NVC and she can take a new one to the interview.

Do you have the email of the NVC Research center? How long did it take them to get back to you?

I called USCIS to find out if my case had been send to NVC they wouldn't tell me even after i waited 85 minutes to talk to a Tier 2! He told me that USCIS has 30-45 days to send the file and to be patient because that is not a lot of time. He was giving me a lot of attitude so I got upset and I told him that after waiting almost 9 months just to get our approval a month seems like a lot if he can't even tell me where my file is. He raised his tone with me and said to chill because he has seen people waiting for over a year for an approval and that I should consider myself lucky!

I call NVC daily but no case yet.....so frustrating when others are getting their case number within 6 biz days....I am happy for them ....its just been a long wait!

Just goes to show that there is much sense to the quote " The grass always looks greener on the other side "

It took USCIS 2 weeks to send it out to NVC, then another month to get the case number and a couple more weeks to get the DS3032 invoice.

I think these people should get payed per case completed. I doubt they would be as backlogged as they are now.

I had this exact same predicament.

My trail of what I did, is in my profile.

Dear All,

I wanted to give an update regarding my case. My case has finally been sent to the NVC.

I was told that the issue was that I had submitted an application for a K3 visa, once my I130 had begun processing, as per normal procedures noted by the USCIS. My I 130 was approved in March, but the field office where my arrive center had sent my application waited to send my I130 until the I129F was also approved, which caused the unnecessary delay. I think that the field offices may not be up to date regarding the proper processing procedure.

I how this information helps. In short, make sure you use all channels possible to get an answer you are satisfied with.

Thanks,

pappupulusu

it's not just the field office that delayed it -

it was the I-129F that you sent, in and of itself, that delayed the I-130 processing.

we talk of this on VJ for 3 years already, in the K-3 subforum. Why you file I-129F anyway, when there is 3 years of written history that filing the I-129F delays the I-130 processing? why why why?

I will never understand why people think to file the I-129F for chasing a K-3, is useless.

and tedious

and cumbersome

and delays the I-130 processing.

AS YOU HAVE LEARNED, firsthand. Note to anyone else reading this? Don't be like this guy, file a I-129F for the K-3 - doing so is evil, wicked, mean and nasty, and delays the I-130 processing at USCIS.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yep I am in the same boat... April 19 NOA2 and nvc doesnt have it. My calls to USCIS have been fruitless with the stupid CR's saying they cant do anything until after 90 days. I have heard back from NVC who stated they will contact USCIS on my behalf. I have taken the additional step of another infopass to the office that approved it hoping I can twist someone's arm for some accurate information. I was really hoping to be close to finished with NVC by now :(
