Not only that. Even if one was to stipulate that there was a cover-up (the lie), that would have been post the event. So even in that case, people wouldn't have died because Clinton lied but rather it would then be the other way around. In Bush's case, people died because he lied us into a needless, stupid and illegal war. But that's too much to grasp for our resident birther nut.

I see. So you advocated for the entire Bush team to be thrown out in 2003? Or maybe even in 2001 seeing how they failed to do anything about the 9/11 attacks despite intelligence warnings? Or are those 4,000+ and 3,000 dead, respectively nothing to be fired over? Don't even want to talk about the numerous attacks on US interests overseas and the 60 or so lost lives that resulted from them during the previous administration. Don't remember all that outrage from those that are so outraged now over any of this. But then, Bush wasn't exactly black and moosleem and foreign, was he?

Republicans Hold Hearings About Hillary Clinton’s Poll Numbers

WASHINGTON — Republican lawmakers asked increasingly tough questions today as they held another day of hearings to investigate, in the words of Rep. Darrell Issa (R-California), “Hillary Clinton’s suspiciously high poll numbers and what can be done to make them lower.”

“With the help of Fox News, we have brutally attacked Hillary Clinton for months, and yet she remains more popular than ever,” Rep. Issa said. “This committee needs to know how that happened, and how we can keep it from happening in the future.”

Rep. Issa pointed to recent polls showing the former Secretary of State trouncing every potential G.O.P. Presidential candidate, “even a skinnier version of Chris Christie.”

“We demand an answer to one simple question,” he said. “What does Secretary Clinton know that none of us knows?”

In his boldest allegation of the day, Rep. Issa accused Secretary Clinton of “cynically using her post as Secretary of State to become wildly popular with the American people.”

“I invite her to these hearings to answer those charges,” he said.

Wrapping up for the day, Rep. Issa warned the former Secretary of State that he was just getting started: “Once we Republicans decide to investigate someone, we don’t stop. If Secretary Clinton doesn’t believe me, she should ask her husband.”

silly me... I didn't think these hearings were simply to destroy Hilary Clinton, or Obama, or anyone... I think enough people have been hurt and killed over this.

I was hoping we would learn the truth about why military assistance was not sent to Bengazi during the attack... And why would the Obama administration downplay this event instead of calling it what it was.??? I cant accept the argument that Obama wanted to keep it low key because of the upcoming election... I think he would have helped his campaign if he said we were attacked by terrorists, and then developed plan to deal with it.... but he could never get past his seeming uncaring attitude as evidenced by his inaction during the time the attack was ongoing... and this should be the focus of the congressional inquiry... and ultimately we should be told, who was the final authority who made the decision to not send military assistance to the embassy..

The outrage is not just because our embassy was attacked.. the outrage is more about the manner in which the Obama administration handled the response to the attack......

The White House has been scrambling to avoid the question of who gave the stand down order ever since whistleblower Greg Hicks, who was number two to Ambassador Chris Stevens, testified that US special forces were ready to board a plane in Tripoli but were prevented from coming to the aid of those under assault inside the consulate.

Hicks revealed that after Stevens had been killed but while the attack was still ongoing, “The Libyan military agreed to fly their C-130 to Benghazi and carry additional personnel to Benghazi as reinforcements,” including US Special Forces, but that a call came through from Special Operations Command Africa saying, “you can’t go now; you don’t have authority to go now.”

“They were told not to board the flight, so they missed it.” Hicks said.

In the hours after the stand down order was given, three more American diplomats were killed by terrorists who laid siege to the consulate.

The Obama administration denies that any kind of stand down order was given, a claim that rings hollow given the White House’s attempt to cover up the nature of what happened in the days after the attack, claiming instead that it was a “protest” sparked by a YouTube video.
