My fiance had his interview at the embassy in algiers on March 28th. he was approved. He still has not received his visa and passport. I checked the state department website and it says the visa has been issued and printed as of April 10th. So why has it not been sent to UPS yet? I know the visa has an expiration date, but i am not sure when it is. Is there anything we can do? How can we find out what is going on? Has anyone ever experienced this? Is it possible the visa is lost somewhere? We need help!

I dont know when your fiance had his interview, but I receive mine almost 2 weeks later. My interview took place on April 3, 2012 and I finally receive it on april 16 and it was issued on april 11. Be patient and wait at least for a couple of days, otherwise call the US embassy at your fiance's country

Or you can contact the shipping company as there are things that can happen with them such as the scanner being broken and not able to scan the item. If he had his interview on March 28th and was approved I would suggest that he call UPS or whoever the shipping company is. They may have it sitting there. Mine was sitting in the Loomis office in Canada and they were not able to scan it so I called and got a track put on the package. Hope this helps and God bless.

My fiance has called the embassy several times but they don;t answer the phone. We have sent emails, but no response. He has called UPS to see if maybe they have it, they say they don;t have it. It is still at the embassy. We are truly stuck.

I guess all you can do is keep calling and keep e-mailing them until they respond! Good Luck! :)

Is he sending emails to both emails listed on the top of this linked page?

Have you tried sending an email to US citizen services?

Have you tried contacting a senator or representative for your state to have them contact the US embassy in Algeria about your issue.

Have you called DOS to see if they could help?

Have you contacted the ombudsman at DOS?

Have you called DOS and checked to see if the visa was actually issued and that it is not sitting in AP?

Call the State department. When I had issues reaching this embassy the State Department was able to help. When you explain the situation they should be able to tell you where it is at, or what is going on.

For me they had to call back after a few days, but they did indeed follow up and get me an answer.

Just something to try :)

Yes, call the state department and see what they say. Did he ever get any call from the regarding the visa delivery? UPS called my fiancé to ask if he wanted to pick it in Algiers or have it delivered to a closer facility. This was just recently, too-- so maybe the embassy is dispatching a batch now and he will get a call soon.
