My I-130 finally got approved on Friday :D , and so now I (USC) am looking at what's next.

I don't want to use my bank statements to send with the I-864 because it's a combined statement which has information on it that I don't want to include. I have read that I can get a letter from my bank instead. I want to make sure that I am asking for the right information from them.

What exactly should this letter have in it?

For the average balance x1 year, can this be 1 inclusive figure or does it have to be 12 individual monthly averages?

It took quite a while to get this far, and now I am concerned about the potential for getting an RFE for this next part. Thanks a lot for you input.

You dont need to use bank statements they are strictly optional. If your income is above 125% of the poverty line when counting you the immigrant, and any other dependents. Then all you need to provide is past year's returns, and better yet the past 3 years returns.

If your income is sufficient consider using the I-864EZ form, all that is required by that one is 1 years tax returns, and optional are (3 years returns, letter from employer, and pay stubs). Tax transcripts do nicely in place of the returns, and are free from the IRS. http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

When it comes to this form give them enough to satisfy the 125% poverty line requirement, any more than they can ask more questions.

I asked because circumstances exist where I feel it would be a good idea for me to have extra documentation like this up front. I am trying to get advice on this without having to go into a lot of personal detail on a public forum. Can someone who has used a letter from their bank or knows what is expected to appear in one please address this question for me? Sorry to be a pest. I don't make a habit of asking questions here unless I really need to.
