Hotels in Montreal

So I am in the midst of trying to find a decent hotel close to the consulate in Montreal to stay at while I go for my interview. I am just curious as to what others have done in the past if they had to stay in a hotel for their interview. What hotel did you go with, was it close to the consulate, prices, was it clean, did it have free wifi? Any help, thoughts, recommendations, or past experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.

Stayed here - amazing hotel with shopping complex.

Service was awesome, super clean.

1 block from the US consul, very quick walk there and back to the hotel to check out.

Found a price deal online, was totally worth it.

I stayed at the Days Inn.... was a 10 min walk and on the same street as the Consulate. Payed $85 including taxes + 20 for parking.... Staff was really friendly... ended up having to stay an extra night because we got snowed in >< Room was clean and I really can't complain about anything. Was perfect for what we needed.

Would have been awesome to have an interview there in the summer... that area seemed to be local to everything... I would have loved to walk down to the water and see the sites....

I'm staying at the best western downtown. Finally have the flights and hotel booked. I'm happy. Now to get my jazz in gear and cancel things. I do have the week after the interview to pack too.

We stayed at Le Square Phillips Hotel in downtown Montreal. Very close, within walking distance.

I wrote a blog post about the hotel with a little video to remember our trip to Montreal.

It's a little more expensive, but very nice and convenient.
Good luck everyone!

The only thing about the summer is its now 120.00/night. I was planning on staying there but its kinda expensive now. Is it worth it for that price???

This is reasonably priced for the summer (student housing the rest of the year), West Lodge is the closest to the consulate, but both locations are at a walking distance: http://www.residences-uqam.qc.ca/hotel/en/

If people are still looking, we just paid 100 + 19 parking at the travelodge just a few days ago.

I don't suggest staying there for a long period of time.

We were only there 1 night.

It was a VERY small room but no other real complaints.

See my lengthy review thread of montreal for more info.

Oh, PS: I booked through hotels.com, not through the hotel itself.

I wish the Marriott had been open.

Coulda gotten a discount from my client >=[
