And so, he waited two hours to talk to someone 'higher up', only to be told, they don't know what it means, they can't help and then they put the phone down on him.

I think I got about two hours sleep last night. He's so angry I didn't bombard him with questions over what happened. He needed to stop thinking about it for a few hours and relax.

I'm not sure what we're going to do next. He said he's not going to resubmit it only to have it returned again a week later.

Are they really allowed to treat people like this? We're good people, we both have good jobs, he works in a bank, I work in a College, neither of us has a criminal record, we're not silly teenagers getting married on a whim...I just don't understand why anyone would make someone feel like this...it's beyond belief!

I typed in Google "USCIS classification sought" and the first result is the form I-129.pdf, which asks in several places "classification sought (check one)". But you say you're positive you filled out the form I-129F not 129 by mistake. Perhaps the above suggestion by Hypnos would be the best solution now, because this issue is an unusual one.

I am a newbie and have not yet submitted my I-129F petition. I reviewed my G-325A and had put K-1 not I-129F and have since changed it. A big thank you to MIDUVIL for pointing this out.

Jenni, I know it's frustrating, but it is NOT personal. They are not trying to make your feel bad, or make comments about your relationship, or your career, or your worth, or anything like that. There is just something wrong with the paperwork. That's all.

I suppose it's possible it is just USCIS error, but the fact that it happened twice is quite a coincidence.

A person on the phone can't help because they can't see the paperwork. I would post your paperwork here, or have your fiance try an INFOPASS appointment at his local office.

Have not seen your form, but I would compare everything you did to the examples in VJ and on USCIS, see if you can see the difference. Infopass heaven awaits you guys. Good Luck, if you have a friend here email them your applicaiton for review (better if they are UK).

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Jenni,

He needs to check his 'current' marital status. If he got married, divorced, married again and became a widower, only widower should be checked on question 6. Conversely, if he got married, became a widower, remarried and divorced, he should check 'divorced'. He will have a change to enter the names of previous wives in question 9.

I agree...he needs to check only ONE box. Maybe this simple little thing is the problem? Keep us informed and good luck!
