Its a Sad Sad day when the Innocent are killed.

My prayers go out to the families...

Think I will give my daughter a big hug when she gets off the bus today ..

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I was wondering the same thing. I know that some states have mandatory seat belt laws.

Hoping that there may be some positive change as a result of this tragedy.

WHY THE FUQUE DO SCHOOL BUSSES NOT HAVE SEATBELTS!?!?!?!?!?!?

So far I've seen one reasoning given for no seatbelts is that small children would have a hard time getting out of them in an emergency such as bus submersion or fire or something like that. It makes some sense but it isn't only children riding buses and it seems a lot more likely to me that a schoolbus will be in a crash that will result in kids being thrown around (I personally remember just going over little bumps in the road and getting thrown around in the bus) rather than the bus going under water or catching on fire. I think there absolutely should be seatbelts!!

Seatbelts are mandatory in Alabama but the buses do not have them installed. Both of my kids ride the bus and the belt issue was told to me previously is look at the ages on the bus? Some of the kids are very petitie and then you have the average size as well as some that are bigger kids. On the bus the boys ride we have kids 5 to 18 years old riding. New laws required kids under a certain weight and 10 years I think must be in booster seats and the bus cannot accomodate. Our bus has been in the past so overcrowded too that we have three, four or more kids on one seat and if you have three belts they cannnot be used since too many kids riding in one seat as well.

Do buses of any kind have seatbelts? I'm genuinely curious...I have a car, so I don't ride public transportation. If the answer is no, then it may not seem so unusual that school buses would be without seatbelts. Still, it's an unsafe environment for school-age children.

My thoughts as well for the families and all involved. Joel saw a car cut off a school bus the other day...the same thing could have happened so easily here. People seem to be so impatient with buses these days. *sigh*

I just got my morning paper and it confirms that a Lee County student clipped the bus and caused the accident. I also see more photos and it is amazing that the driver survived the crash. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved with this accident.
