Is California approval letters different than Vermont?

Hey, I was just curious about the letter I received from Vermont, approving our I129F. It states that my information is being sent to the consulate that I indicated on the form. I saw an approval letter made approximately a year ago, from California, and it states that the information was being sent to the National Visa Center, then will be determined which embassy to go to from there.

Has there been a change in the procedures? Are they saving money by sending the documents directly, and possibly sending the information that NVC need electronically?

Just curious, and would like to hear other's opinions.

When I received my letter from CSC a few weeks ago it also said the same thing. Under "notice type" it listed the consulate and in the paragraph below it said "the above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate".

To make matters worse they listed the WRONG consulate so I went a little nuts thinking they were forwarding on to the wrong place. After many phone calls and emails I finally found out that while the service centers write these letters they DO NOT assign the cases to consulates. Which is why it is beyond me that they even write it on the letter!

So in the end the NVC received mine and forwarded it right along to RIo. So long story short, ya they are putting that information on our notices too and they will still be sen straight to the NVC first!

I had a similar question.

The NOA2 stated that they would forward to the listed consulate, and then no consulate was listed. I looked at my submission documents and notice that no consulate was identifed there either, by me or anyone else.

I asked about this on the NVC board and was told this is standard meaningless response from USCIS.

Which means we still want to make sure NVC gets the correct consulate, but that's a different story.

All USCIS-approved I-129F petitions are sent to the NVC for initial intake and processing into the Department of State's systems.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
