OMG, I'm so sorry to hear that.

I guess it was put on hiatus more then being denied, since you just have to provide those records.

I wish you guys good luck!!

this whole thing is just a big pain in the butt, but we always have to think of the outcome at the end of all this.

Sounds like his visa wasn't denied but rather he was issued a 221g requesting missing information. Once this information is provided, his visa will be approved and issued. Another good example of why you shouldn't make any real plans until the visa is in hand.

Sounds like a 221g to me too and sorry you will have to wait a little longer. Get your required paperwork together, visit your SO to and pray for patience during this time.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Hi everyone....my fiance is 50 years old and we are wondering if other people were asked for school records like darkchild80 was and if so why do they need them? No where on any paperwork did it request this and I have not heard anyone else being asked for this so we are just wondering why and if we will need it as well. Thanks....

Oh my, I'm so sorry! (F) Like everyone else has said, it's a delay, not a denial. I too am intrigued by a request for school records. I wasn't asked for anything, nor did I see anything on any paperwork throughout this whold process on this!

Hope you can enlighten us. Get those papers in soon, and hopefully it will be a speedy success!

so sorry - how frustrating! (F)

Hopefully you can get the records quickly. As other people have pointed out, it is not likely a denial, just a postponed for further info sort of thing.

Crappy news, but hopefully an easy fix!! I thought I recalled he/she wasnt from Canada, but attending school ort something along those lines. I could be wrong though!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My fiance's is not orginally from Canada. He became a citizen of Canada 8 years ago. My fiance says he needs a school record from home and a police report from his home country. I am hoping this helps someone else! Thanks everyone for the kind words. His family will ship the documents and we should have the visa soon! We were able to cancel everything with without penalties!
