Hi Everyone,

So what happens after one sends the civil documents to the NVC?

For example if I have already sent everything (all originals, translations etc. EVERYTHING an this is for my husband) to NVC is that what they sent to the consulate?

I'm confused because when I look at people's lists on here on what to bring to the consulate they all list all the civil documents again...so if the consulate already has them why would I bring them again?

Is it just in case the consulate lost them??

Anyone?

Thank you

Congrats on your NVC prosess, well i was a little confused too but everyone helped me out . basically you have to take a copy of everything you send to NVC on the day of your interview . Also you have to bring your original marriage license and also an updated police report to the interview.

They have it but its better to have everything that to have nothing at all, so get your ppwrk ready because NVC process is pretty fast , oh yeah and once its completed in NVC do not freak out about the interview !!! you will get it !

good luck !

You answered your own question.

Giving the beneficiary (intending immigrant attending the interview) a set copy of ALL documents throughout the process is good advice for these reasons:

1. Just erring on the side of caution.

2. Shows you both are organized and well prepared.

3. And most importantly lets say during the interview, the CO says I don't have a copy of petitioner's tax transcripts. Your husband or wife will go: here you go officer i have an additional copy and by the way, it's my understanding my husband submitted the originals to NVC!

USCIS, NVC and the embassies/consulates are all human institutions who can and do make plenty of mistakes. You shouldn't be surprised if a document get lost in transit or they flat out say we didn't receive it!

In the interview letter says the documents you must bring with you to the consulate, for example i only have to bring the (police certificate), also you have to bring the copies all the documents you submitted to the nvc.

i hope this help.

Once you have sent out all the civil and supporting documents to NVC, they will review all document, say all goes well and you do NOT get a "checklist" you will wait a about 20 day(or sooner) to get a "case completed".

What you have been seening with regards to people taking the civil documents again the day of interview is because it's been seen in some cases where they have lost of misplace the civil doc. So it's better safe then sorry... ( Once you get your interview pkt4 it will tell you exactly what they need from you) I was lucky that all supporting docments I sent were received, all I took the day of the cita was an updated papel de buena conducta.

So goof luck and just be prepared you just never no what they may ask for....
