August 2012 AOS filers take heart!!

I'm happy to report that my husband finally got his Green Card in the mail last Saturday (April 27th). We filed for AOS back in August of last year. At first, it seemed like things were moving along quite speedily, as we got a biometrics appointment fairly quickly, followed by receiving the EAD/AP card in October. I had every reason to think that things would keep moving at a nice pace. However, the months came and went very slowly. Every once in awhile I would check the status of the application on the USCIS website, only to find that nothing had been updated since August when the application packet was first received. I wasn't sure if I should start worrying or not, or whether or not I should try to call someone to see what was going on with the application. BUT...I fought off the urge to do any of those things and just kept believing that if USCIS/Homeland Security needed anything from us, they would let us know. Finally, the waiting paid off and we received the "Welcome to the United States" letter on 4/25/13, followed by the Green Card 2 days later. There was no interview and no RFE's.

All this to say...if you filed in August and you haven't heard a single word from USCIS....don't panic. Just keep waiting (as patiently as you can)....it shouldn't be too long now. :-)

I filed in June, and just got the 'new card being printed' notification or whatever it is, on May 3rd.So it's going back earlier than August!

No interview either, which makes it worth the wait.

To be honest, I didn't even worry about it, which is very unlike me, I kept off here, which probably helped, LOL.
