My fiance and I have been in a relationship for 9 years! We met online when I was just 18 and he had just turned 20. It took years (5 to be exact) before I was able to meet him in person. He was in College and making no money and I wasn't working for a couple years. Finally in Feb of 2009 we got to meet! It was a dream come true! Sadly a few months later his father passed away unexpectedly and we had to put a pause on future plans due to his family needing him during this time. I got to meet him again a year later in 2010 and met his family. In 2012 we tried to get him a tourist visa to the US so he could meet my family but he was denied. So again I went to India in Jan 2013 and he officially proposed at the Taj Mahal on January 24th 2013! (His birthday!) As soon as I got back I started the process of gathering documents and reading up to educate myself on the fiance visa process. I'm glad I found this website its already been extremely helpful to us and it eases my nerves to know I'm doing things correctly. I'm hoping to get the petition filed by the end of this month. We have plans to meet up for a week in Dubai come this September, which we're both very excited about!. I'm hoping and praying this process doesn't take much longer as we have already been waiting years to be together. Good luck to everyone!
