I'm looking for help with the affidavit of support for a self employed person

Trying to get as much done ahead of time while we wait for CSC. I am self employed, I looked for a I-134 guide specific to that situation, but found none. Can someone point me to a list of what I need to prove income & assets? Letter from employer, etc.

no, transcripts are different. They're free and you can order them online from the IRS and get them within a week.

Yes. Supply complete copies of your returns including all forms, schedules, W-2s and 1099s.

ok, looks like we need to go to the source documents. One of you is saying transcripts, the other is saying complete returns. Where are the actual requirements spelled out. I don;t see anything in the instructions.

It is either or. You asked if you could use copies of your returns. The answer is yes, but they must be complete copies. You can also get transcripts from the IRS for free, but transcripts are not a requirement unless stated by your consulate that they are. Each consulate has different requirements and procedures. Ask in your regional forum to be absolutely sure.

Read through the I-864 instructions, even when using the I-134. Most consulates follow the guidelines for the I-864 anyway, and those instructions give a lot of useful details you will not find in the I-134 instructions.
