Hello all. I'm sending in my husband's Immigrant application (DS 230 I believe)....and was just wondering, based on all your experiences out there, how long does it usually take for this last step? to get an interview scheduled at his embassy in Paris, etc. He's in Portugal. Our whole deal hasn't taken that long. I sent the original docs in on Dec. 15, and it's May and we're on our last step. Just wondering if we can safely assume that within 20 days, we'll have our last notice that he should get his medical done, and have an interview scheduled...which is the last hoorah...then he comes here. :) Is that safe to assume? We're a pretty straight forward case. Just hopeful that we can start making some plans but can't unless we can bank on something happening by June/July.

Thanks anyone who can shed some light/share experiences.

That's not a safe assumption. Sending in the DS-230 packet will take up to 20 business days to review, and then maybe another 2 weeks to set the interview date, and the interview date will be set for a month or more away.

Wait until you have visa in hand before making plans that you can't change.
