Thank you kindly for your advice. It is well received. I can tell you that the DV case was dismissed. I am now just proceeding with the divorce. As luck would have it, I was able to get an appointment at my local USCIS office for Wed AM.

Many thanks

Kevin

They won't be able to do anything over the phone, you will need to make an Infopass appointment.

Keep trying, as new slots open every day.

Hey, your advice worked like a charm! I just kept logging into the Infopass page and the thing finally opened up a slot.

Thanks much

K

After reading all the stuff in this topic,

I think the main failure point really was ...

Her friends not know that RoC form has basic waiver for divorce in it.

I know, this is relatively new, came out about 3 years ago, but...

SHEESH !! What a bunch of morons, giving your wife advice.

I suggest you withdraw the JOINT RoC on your infopass appointment. That gets you off the hook, for any fraudulent stuff.

Somehow, tell your wife she can file RoC without you (postcard, packet of forms showing the divorce tickbox, whatever) in some fashion where there's still no contact with her.

Good Luck, and God Speed !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I'm glad you were able to secure an appointment.

I would have never known to keep trying if you had not posted your comments.

Thanks again

Thank you kindly for your comment and advice. I will cancel my ROC at the appointment. I have tried to tell her she can file on her own, but she is sooooooo mad right now she is not hearing anything. I have given up on contacting her. I will let the lawyers do the rest. Expensive, but very effective.

Thanks

Kevin

Did you tell her to file alone? Really? Why are you helping her with some informations if you think you were scammed?

I appreciate the sentiment, however I do not think our entire marriage was a scam. I do believe that she lied about the DV in order to secure her immigration status once she saw I was very serious about my intentions to divorce. I believe she was trying to protect herself. And she was trying to put the screws to me too by getting me arrested and having a fling in LA. Don't misunderstand me please. She is not an angel in this, but neither is she the devil. I believe she is owed her rights as a now long time alien here to pursue her citizenship. She just refuses to do any of the research on it herself. She is a natural born, extremely talented and highly educated artist. Artists don't read documents!! They read poetry!!! :)

I do appreciate your thoughts.

Many thanks,

Kevin

I can't believe what I just read but hopefully you have a solid plan.

Your case reminds me of the Helsinki syndrome.

Good luck.

PS: I do not tolerate such nonsense and I carved out my Ex like a cancerous growth from my life. I simply do not understand your continued assistance but like I said I hope you have a plan.

No issues with Helsinki Syndrome here, my friend. Just clear-headed strategizing. Once I recieved the excellent advice from a number of the good people here at VJ, the plan became quite clear. Mabe it's my medical training, but one gets far better results when one dissects instead of carves to remove a cancer. I do understand the hate you feel towards your ex, but brother, you gotta let it go. Honestly the only person it hurts is you.

Many thanks,

Kevin

I believe you are doing the right thing. She will keep her greencard without your help, but your help to her, in turns helps YOU from further stress of false accusations and the like. I agree based on your OP that she just freaked out and thought it was her only option. Incredibly selfish of her of course, but understanable response when she feels her life is falling down around her, an attempt to regain control.

Not sure why the hate for my Ex thing came from. I just do not tolerate BS and when I see it as in yours where you've been scammed and incacerated and you're still helping (almost to a felonious level with immigration).

As I hope and you confirmed, you have a plan so all is well.

Thank you for the encouragement. I feel I am doing what is right too. I will not try to hamstring the lady I was in love with for more than four years in this situation. I am not doing her paperwork for her, just letting her know she is on her own now. She's still freaking out a bit, but I think she will come to her senses eventually. Even if she doesn't, I am well protected legally, especially after I cancel the RoC application tomrrow.

Much appreciated,

Kevin
