Montreal expedite visa retrieval?

Are there certain conditions under which, after an approval, Montreal would expedite you picking up your passport with the visa, either same day or after a few days if you are able to hang around in Montreal?

Would proof of international travel (not to the United States), booked before the interview is even scheduled, be one of those conditions?

Have people been able to swing this before? Any suggestions on how to approach it if we need to ask?

By way of explanation...my husband will be traveling between Canada and Latin America for work related to his graduate degree over the next seven months. The current track we're on will likely land us an early July interview. He'll be in Canada July 1- July 17, then again August 15-31, and then not again until the very end of December. We're trying to figure out if we can squeeze in the medical, interview, and passport retrieval during these small windows.

Iv only seen Montreal expedite for people who are already living in the USA and need the passports back to go home. I believe their website states that as well.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

If you have your passport shipped with loomis to the Dorval location, near Montreal, it shouldn't take too long to get there. I'd say 2 days maximum... That's without an expedite.

My visa was issued the same day as my interview and it was shipped the next day. It took a little while for me to get it since i didn't live anywhere near a loomis location.

Any idea on how long for a Toronto location (Toronto proper, not the burbs)?

1 can always ask...if you do not ask...answer is already no. But there are NO guarantees how fast the Visa pkg will actually leave the Consulate! yes some do get them very fast, while others do not. And then throw in that there is always the chance of further background checks for some.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My interview is on 19 Jun and my daughter has to have her passport back in hand for 28 Jun for her Grad Trip to Dominican Republic.

I will be trying to find this out myself. I’ll let you know what they say.
