So I went to the bank (Bank of America) and asked for a statement stating when the account was opened, deposits for the last year, and current balances. They gave me a screen print of my balances, and the date the account was opened. They said for the deposits they could give me copies of all my bank statements for the last year. They said they usually get something faxed to them t fill out and return for immigration.

So, I was unable to get the statement from a bank officer on what it asks for, Is this goin to be good enough?

I bank with a small local Credit Union and I had to call and speak with a manager and explained my situation(needing the info for immigration purposes etc.). Anyway, she(the manager) had to research all the info and type a special letter for me. I really appreciated that. Guess that was a benefit of banking with a small institution. I would suggest you make an appt and talk to someone. They probably will tell you that they dont do letters like that(I was told that initially), then you ask to speak to someone in charge. Hope u get thru...

p.s. I HATE Bank of America.....

Are you using assets to meet the income requirement? If not, then bank statments are not even needed, so you are good. Most important evidence to provide with the I-134 is your most recent IRS transcript, letter from employer and/or most recent pay stub(s).

I'm having to use a co-sponsor since I don't meet the financial requirements myself. He will be gathering his own documents, but I still have to file an I-134 since I'm the primary sponsor right? so I still need the paperwork?

Yes, you still need to provide an I-134, your most recent tax transcript, letter from employer and/or most recent pay stub(s). Since you do not qualify, all the more reason why bank statements are not needed.

If your co-sponsor's income is enough for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e), then they do not need list assets or provide bank statements either. They also only need the I-134, most recent tax transcript, letter from employer, most recent pay stub(s), plus proof of being a USC or LPR: copy of US birth certificate, biographical page of US passport, naturalization, or front and back of green card.
