Hi everyone,

We're waiting for my husband's AOS to be approved still. In the mean time, his EAD is going to expire in July. We sent in for a renewal of his EAD with a NOA1 date of 4/10. We have not however received a letter for him to have his biometrics done again. He got his first set done June 16th, 2012 (something like that). Does that mean he does not have to have another set of biometrics done for the EAD renewal as his are still good until June? And if the EAD renewal is not approved before the biometrics expire will he need a new one? Is that how it works?

I think you are probably correct based on my experience with the naturalization process. It follows removing conditions by a year for many who are applying based on marriage and push on through to do it ASAP. A few people had biometrics waived because as their timelines worked out, they had done the ROC biometrics less than a year before. So yes, I have seen biometrics waived for a process that normally calls for it to be done.

Ok, that does make sense to me. I guess we will see how it all plays out in the next few months. If his AOS gets approved soon (fingers crossed!) then we won't even have to worry about it. And if they do want him to have them done again then that's what we'll have to do.

Thanks for the answer, Nich-Nick :)
