I am an immigrant previously married but it didnt work out due to infidelity on her part so i divorced her then married my girl friend of almost 2 yrs and we got married on the beach in oahu island. My application for AOS along with i765 and i130 was received at the chicago lock box on the 21st of Feb , Biometrics done on the 25th of March and interview on the 29th of April . I didnt know i was selected for a stoke interview as it didnt say on the interview paper but to cut long story short, me and my wife were interviewed seperately by 2 io officers for an hour each and it was recorded by typing computer by the IO . I was asked several questions like where did i meet my wife, the address she used to live when we met and was even questioned about my visa and asked if i went for the judo competetion i came for. My wife was also asked several questions like what Grocery store we shop at , the name of the street where the grocery store is ,the road / route she normally took to work . We live on the lake so the officer asked my wife is we lived behind the lake she said no we live on the lake . I know some of the questions we were asked might not match because you never know what to expect and It was such a nerve wrecking experience but i didnt care since our marriage is bonafide . About 10 minutes into my wifes interview after i was escorted outside, the IO asked for my wifes parents phone number and he called both parents to confirm our marriage is legit and the io even asked my wifes mum dont she think the trip to hawaii is expensive? She confirmed she gave us some money and that my parents also sent me some money. . I had 2 jobs and i made 44k last year and i submitted a joint filed tax return as well as 1099's we both receive from our school . My wife wasnt working last year but she started working about 3 months before our interview date . The Io does not seem to be interested in any of the documents we took with us such as insurance, lease agreement, dental and health .After the interview, the Io gave my wife a slip of paper which stated interview is under review and will be notified in the mail if additional document is needed or if a deceision was made. I checked my case status online days after the interview but i485 still in testing and interview , i130 initial review and i765 card production as at may 2nd . Can anyone tell me what to expect ? i couldnt sleep nor eat !

You didn't give that many details that are useful: for example, how long between your previous marriage and your current marriage? Was there any overlap at all? Did you know and/or reside with the girlfriend while you were still married?

They only separate in cases where they suspect something may not be adding up. All you can do at this point is sit and wait, and hopefully you'll get your approval notice soon.

What happens next, you wait for them to contact you.

Since the first marriage wasnt working out so well , my ex wife moved out so i started dating again and i met my present spouse in Feb 2011 and I filed for a divorce in May 2012 and divorce wasnt finalized until Sept 2012 and i also got married the same month the divorce was finalized . I am sure may be the reason we were selected for stoke interview. but my question is, since they called my spouse parents to confirm marriage is legit will that give them enough reason to approve out petition ? In addition, the i765 for work authorization wasnt approved until 3 days after the stokes interview.

I think you will be fine - especially the fact that they confirmed from your parents that the marriage is legit. That your EAD card is in production 3 days after the interview - that I dont understand cos they could have simply skipped the EAD and start producing your green card! But, if I were you I wont worry too much cos the marriage is legit and even if they want to do a house visit, they will only come and see that what we had told them during the interview is true!

He is not yet approved for a GC, so no, they are not going to go to GC production. EAD is on a separate timeline and unrelated to your interview.

So what country are you from? So you got a tourist visa to go to a judo competition, and then stayed? Did you go to the competition?

AOS for my husband

Always amazes me some of the comments you get on here.

Good luck and would not worry! The IO did you a great favor by confirming the info with your parents and in-laws. You are probably correc ton why they gave you the stokes interview. I was in a similar situation and honestly, the stokes interview worked for me for I had an opportunity to ensurre that I got a chance to express myself and answer any concerns the embassy might have.

Keep your fingers crossed and am confident that you have passed with flying colors, if everytinhg you mention is accurate and complete!
