Vaccination Problem

I have my vaccination record booklet with TP , MMR and Hepatitis B

On my record .. i have complete the TP which is first and second dose and as well as the MMR both the first and second .. but the issue i am worried about and need advice on it that.. my Hepatitis B has three dose to be taken and i have completed the first and second one and which remaining that last one and my next date appointment for the last one is 5/10/2013... but here they are telling me i have to start all over again just bcos it is from other country... and in my record that is the only one that need to complete.. so i am asking for an advice that is it necessary or i should just let it like that .. bcos i dont know what to do now .. so that is why am reaching out before it too late

well i also got the shots they required me to take form my country at some point, i was to do my visa interview in nairobi kenya and they told me that it didnt matter if i had done them in my country or not, that i had to re-do them again in nairobi kenya at a medical centre that the embassy asked me to have them done, so what i advise you is to just re-do them wherever thry are telling you to have them done because if you dont they will give you a hard time at your interview.

My son was in the same position, he only had that third shot left and there was no problem. He got his third shot over here when it was due and that was that.

hello, typically if you missed a dose in the 3 part series you would only have to take the missed dose or start from where you stopped.The missing shot would just have to be given as soon as possible. In your case if they insist that you get the three shots again, restart the series, then you will have some time added to your wait because there should be a time gap between the 2 and 3rd shot normally like 8 weeks. Anyways If they insist then just start over it wont harm your system. Good luck and God bless.

K1 applicants can get their visa with their records incomplete and then finish their shots in the US. You must have your shots complete by AOS and you must have started your shots ( have at least one of each required for you ) Joseph didn't complete his shots in Nigeria and got the rest here.

Q. Do I have to receive all the required vaccines, even though I have been vaccinated before?

A. No. The civil surgeon will review your vaccination records at the time of your medical examination to see whether you have proof of earlier vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases that are appropriate for your age category. It is important that you take any written vaccination documentation you may have to the civil surgeon when you have your immigration medical examination.

If you lack any vaccinations required for your age category, the civil surgeon will administer the vaccines as needed. In the alternative, you can also choose to obtain the required vaccines from your private healthcare provider. However, because only a civil surgeon is authorized to complete the vaccination assessment on the Form I-693, you must return to the civil surgeon with the proof that you have received the missing vaccines.

In addition, some individuals are immune to vaccine-preventable diseases, and they know of the immunity because their private healthcare provider has tested them. If you have any written evidence of immunity, you should take this documentation to your civil surgeon. This will enable the civil surgeon to determine which vaccines you need to receive.

Q. Certain vaccine series can only be completed with multiple visits to the civil surgeon. Am I required to complete the entire series before the civil surgeon can sign the Form I-693?

A. You are only required to receive a single dose of each vaccine when you visit the civil surgeon. You are encouraged to follow up with your private health care provider to complete the series. Once you have received the single dose appropriate at the time, the civil surgeon can sign and certify the Form I-693.

I keep reading this, and then I keep running into posters like the OP who have trouble getting "complete" without the Hep B vaccine. I'm trying to sort out what the right thing for my fiance to get is -- he hasn't started the HepB vaccine yet and we're still maybe a month away from his interview (if CSC continues on schedule). We both would RATHER he just forget HepB, but is that going to cause us problems when we AOS from K-1 in a few months?

Hep B would be marked off on the DS-3025 at the K-1 medical exam as 'not age appropriate'. It is not common to have 'complete' checked off on the DS-3025. It will be marked 'incomplete' and 'may be eligible for a blanket waiver'. Thank you, Jay-Kay, that's a useful link and I sure hope it's accurate. I'll have my fiance double-check when he has his medical, hopefully the doctor fills it out correctly!
