Hi,

I have been requested to submit an affidavit of support for my parent's visa application. However, as a college student I don't make or have enough assets to be their primary AOS. I know that in order to follow through a joint sponser can help my case out. My questions are:

How do I file the AOS jointly, the application only has a single slot for the person submitting the application?

From the research I have been doing it looks like there should be two separate applications sent, but how will they know that one is the primary petitioner from the joint AOS.?

Anyone have a similar case in which you needed a joint AOS to fulfill this requirement for the visa process?

On the I-864 there is a checkbox that indicates whether you are applying to be the primary or joint sponsor.

Find one - that human fills out a 2nd I-864.

I will ask my questions here, since they are related.

I filed for my mother. I am not employed and thus have no income. My husband and I file taxes jointly.

Do I fill out I-864 as the sponsor and put my income as zero and my husband fills out I-864a as household member, or do I fill out I-864 and put my husband's income as mine/joint?

The other question will be, do they consider the beneficiary's income, if it is from outside the US? Like pension, for example.

same situation here. i have 0 income and my husband is the joint sponsor. I know i complete i-864 and he completes i-864A . however im confused on how I complete part 5, since we have kids but they are not really my dependents..are they? and part 6 question 5 under income..should I just do 0?
