It isn't a crime but neither is half the stuff in Lagos they deny you for. It is a red flag to have little time between dicorce and being in a new relationship.

The larger the gap the better. The divorce was in 2010. The new relationship started the same year or in 2011 ?

I have heard stories of the CO asking can't you find someone in the USA .... why petition more than one foreigner. Just be ready with a good answer.

They want to be all up in your business and there is nothing you can do about the onstorm of questions that you deem personal.

The point is can you convince the consulate that you did not receive payment for bringing someone over for a sham marriage.

Convey that you and your ex both married for love and back it up with a few things. You don't go overboard on it but if it comes up you are ready.

When you file your petition you include a letter about why things didn't work out for you both (guidance of an attorney indicated here ) and that you both married for love initially and that he filed for divorce due to blah blah.....tell the truth from your heart without getting too emotional.

Tread lightly and don't overcompensate and present a matter of fact letter with a few paragraphs and include how you met your current man

and how much you feel you are a perfect match etc.etc.........

Yes, Marc has experience with Lagos though in your case it would not neccessarily matter as that is what he does best anywhere, his expertise in overcoming assumptions and lots of technicalities is great and he is good with NOID/NOIR letters should it come down to that if the case gets returned.

Don't stress just be over prepared, then less complication would be a pleasant surprise versus thinking it will be a piece of cake.

my ex left in 2009 he filed and legally divorced end of 2010 new relation didn't start till 2012

So it is 2 year gap between the relationships ( be safe to count from the final divorce not when he left), which is not too bad but

on the edge but also very doable with success. As I said the bigger the gap the better.

Not sure what you meant by list of questions ? You mean what they may ask him about the ex ? Everything you can think of.

A good lawyer will hear out your past and present story of circumstances and he will be the one asking you the questions to fully analyse everything and give you feedback on how to proceed with what materials and evidences. During his questions for you, any questions you would have will evolve from there, so no worries about a complete list for now. It will come to you.

Stay on top even if you have a lawyer and do not rely 100% on a lawyer, thinking he will cover it all while you detach from it because "a lawyer handles it." That is a big mistake many make. You know your details better than anyone else and must always be informed and stay on top every step of the way.

You can start by telling the attorney you have a short relationship gap between an immigrant divorce and current relationship/petition and are asking for detailed things to add to your letter in the new petition package to USCIS and need advice for the interview itself at a high fraud post.

If your lawyer poo poo's that then contact another for a 2.opinion etc....better safe and prepared than sorry !
