Hi, before my wife left China she completed most of the Vaccines, including the X-ray for TB.

A few days ago she went to a doctor to get the last 2, or so vaccines she need.... however they never looked at her

vaccination record booklet from China gave her the TB vaccine anyways.

She is positive, and apparently this vaccine was not necessary since it was tested for in China.

I am trying to figure out what to do, does she still need to go to the TB clinic as this doctor said?

or it this all a screw up?

From the sound of it the nurse did not look at her chinese records like she was supposed to.

The US doesn't administer any TB vaccine, so I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean they did the TB skin test? I believe it is correct to do it again because TB is a serious issue. Especially if she tests positive.

I think you're talking about the PPD test. She must comply with the doctor's requirement for TB tests. After all, it's for her own health.

Is this for the I-693 form? Same thing happened to me. Just show the doctor the x-ray report to clear up the TB issue. False positive for TB skin test is very common.

hey guys my wife and I are going through the same dilemma in regards to her medical records since it has been over a year since her last dr's visit..i was wondering if we can just go straight to a civil surgeon and maybe have all the testing done there..would that be smart move?

If it has been a year then her overseas medical is void. So yes, just go to a Civil Surgeon and get an exam. That is how you do it.

i came here and had my medical before ( and no TB positive ) and because i didn't process the AOS soon so it means my medical already expired. even my lawyer said no need to do it again because already submitted but i just better be prepared so i did another medical exam which is i have latent TB ( class B which is common and not active but still needs 9 months treatment ) but clear for xray and today i just had an interview and the lady asked about my update medical record, see... so it's better prepare and it's good too for yourself to do some check up, nothing to lose, than you will get RFE later, that is what i am thinking smile.png
