Request to Participate in Research

My name is Sindie Castro and I am Northeastern University graduate student in Education working on a research study as a requirement to graduate from my doctorate program.

The purpose for this research is to answer the research question: How do US citizens who have petitioned for their spouse’s legal permanent resident (LPR) make sense of their experience of the process?

Participants must be 21 year or older and will be asked to participate in two one-on-one digital sound recording interviews lasting between 45 to 90 minutes via internet or face-to-face.

Sindie, it's awesome you are using your experience toward your doctoral degree, congratulations for making it so far. Check your neu.edu e-mail; I'd like to participate.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
