In general, if I'm making something for the first time I'll go by the "recipe", but after that I adjust it to my tastes etc.

I find it useful to at least have a general reference to go by, and if I don't write that down I won't remember it. Sometimes I think my brain is just like a seive. :P

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

On my computer desktop I have a photo of my fiance and I from our engagment party. So my grandma calls me to the room and says "who are these people on your computer?" So i said that me and my fiance. She looks at me and says "Nooo, thats not you! This girl is much prettier!"

She sounds like she could be a Seinfeld character!

She is so funny. She speaks no english. Have you seen "My big fat greek wedding"? She looks like that Grandma. The only think she says in english is "How you doin? (JUST like Joey in Friends). She is a real crack up.

baklava is too sweet for me, it makes me sick. But then again so does ice cream. :(

Ice Cream makes me sick because of the milk, but I think if you try arabic baklava it won't be as sweet. I have had some that just make my teeth hurt.

Then I guess you wouldn't like the baklava Sundae that they serve at the Greek Food Festival here in Dallas . . . vanilla ice cream with baklava crumbled up on top (sometimes they just do the filling without the pastry part). I actually think the ice cream cuts the sweetness of the honey :lol::lol:

OMG...ewww. I would be sicker than a dog.

Okay, with all of this talk about food, does it make you wonder if we are all hungry? And I have nothing planned for dinner tonight. :crying:

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
